Maths songs

 We use our maths songs as ways to use number, shape and colour in our everyday lives. I will ask what number do you like or what's your favourite number. The same with colours and shapes.
I will ask lots of questions such as show me something red or lets find a circle.  These are all things that can be done at home.

Eriskay Grouptime Grouptime is a huge part of our daily routine. We do many songs and we talk about them. We also use lots of symbols so that everyone can join in. Good morning songs give an opportunity to say good morning and ask questions such as what did you eat for breakfast, did you brush your teeth, how do you feel today etc.  It also gives the children a chance to ask me these questions too. This is a good opportunity for you to check in with your child and keep those questions going. We sing days of the week, months of the year and seasons songs to check in and discuss the day, the date, the weather, the season. A big push this year has been on developing the skills of getting dressed, doing buttons and zips.  Washing hands, getting washed and looking after ourselves.  This is something that can continue at home.
